It’s an important question. You can’t build your social media presence in a day. You need to have the platform built and highly functioning before you really need it.

Our PIO Academy - Social Media for Ohio Law Enforcement will cover:

· The basics of the major networks

· How to engage with the audience to ensure the internet robots deliver your content

· How to use advertising to build your audience

· Creating good content, specific to each platform

· Avoiding mistakes that can cost you

• Public records concerns, what you can and cannot delete

This training is meant to be hands-on. Bring your computers and phones, we’ll be exploring the social networks in real time. The classroom instruction will be interwoven with group exercises where we’ll ask you to create and post real content.

You’ll even learn about that one time the American Red Cross tweeted about getting drunk, and how to use various programs to avoid that mistake yourself.

The training will be led by Mark Weaver, a national advisor for law enforcement leaders. He’ll be joined by Matt Dole and Ryan Stubenrauch. Each instructor has utilized the various platforms of value to law enforcement, works to make engaging content and have created meaningful ads to help build audiences.
